  • The requirements that you are implementing in the solution will cause a cultural and personal change to the employees of the organization.
  • Describe how you will reduce, if not eliminate, any cultural concerns before, during, and after the solution has been introduced and rolled out.
  • For those being affected personally by the solution, describe the processes, training, job aids, and town hall meetings available to address those affected.
  • For the town hall meetings, provide a list of support personnel that will be there to answer any questions.
  • At the town hall meeting and through emails, describe the performance measures that are being used to determine the success of the solution.
  • Be sure to include in both the town hall and the emails, how people can participate in the measurement of the solution.

  • Be prepared to answer questions about you selection.

How are your communication skills? When you listen do you hear what is being said? Do you ask the correct questions?

  • Find a friend, family member, co-worker, or classmate and have a conversation with them about something that they want or need.
  • During the conversation, find out why they need this item or service. If their answers are confusing, ask additional questions until you understand the request.
  • Take notes during the conversation that you can refer back to or record the conversation if possible.
  • At the end of the conversation, provide a recap of their need or want and ask them if you captured their need or want correctly.
  • Be ready to answer these questions in class:
  • Did their request change once you did the recap?
  • If so, what do you need to do next time to remove any confusion or changes?
  • During the conversation did the want change to a need? What is determined that the need was actually a want?
  • Look inside yourself and determine what interpersonal skills you may need to work on to become a good Business Analyst.
  • What would you do differently to make the process easier for the other person in the conversation? For example, did you give them your full attention?
