Read through the materials and classes for Romantic music. Then watch the following video of Chopin’s Fantasie Inpromtu. After listening, critique the music. Comment on the piece as a stand alone musical work – did you like or not like the work. Also, comment on it as a piece of music from the Romantic period. Does the music have Romantic characteristics regarding harmony, melody and rhythm? Does the piece exceed musical boundaries and solicit an emotional or intellectual response?
