This final paper is a 2 part series to bring all the mindfulness, gratitude and kindness concepts together. All together the paper should be 2 to 4 pages.

Part #1 – Random Acts of Kindness

A random act of kindness is a way to show kindness to a stranger by doing something you wouldn’t normally do to be helpful. Perhaps it is opening a door or helping someone out in an unexpected spur of the moment way. Perhaps it is sending a message or kind words to a friend that needs support during a challenging time. Maybe it is handling a driver who makes a pushy or bad move in traffic by just letting them in and moving on without the extra road rage. You may decide to make lunches for homeless people and hand them out. Another idea is paying for the person’s coffee in the line behind you. Keep in mind kindness doesn’t have to cost money it can be given freely. Your challenge is to perform 2 random acts of kindness by Friday May 31 and write up a brief summary of what you did and how it made you feel. It doesn’t matter if you know the person or they are a stranger to you the only stipulation is that it has to be done for someone else (not yourself) in order for it to count towards this activity. It does not have to be anything earth shattering and I have a feeling that many of you will know who to target right away as you are reading this.

Part #2 – Bringing It All Together

The second part of the essay will focus on reflecting back on the key takeaways from PE 203 Yoga for Health and Wellness. As you reflect on the mindfulness, gratitude and kindness themes as well as your introduction into yoga over the last few weeks what are the most important ideas you have discovered for yourself? These can be personal take aways, concepts that resonated with you on your own, during class or through the podcast and readings. Were there areas you found easy and things you found challenging? Overall, you are looking to bring all the aspect of the mind, body and soul together for this last assignment.
