Now that the initial damage has come in from the emergency response personnel the IMT in the EOC has significant decisions to make regarding the response. Since this tornado strike was so catastrophic there exists a need to ensure the EOC is active until all of the CIKR is back up and running and is in the Recovery phase. The Incident Commander has made the decision to set the operational periods at 6 hours for the first 48 hours and will reassess the length of the operational periods during the 48 hours. The IC has informed the Command and General Staff that they need to get to work on the IAP for the first 6 hours of the reporting period. Since the tornado hit at 7PM in the evening, the IC wants the first period to begin at midnight. The IC has been in contact with the County and State Emergency Management personnel and they are aware of the damage and will stand by with resources as needed.
